Have fun with your junk! Come and join us as we turn trash into treasure by upcycling junk mail, magazines, and scraps into unique jewelry. Learn how to make beautiful beads out of paper and glue. As they dry we will learn the techniques knotted into hemp jewelry. Then wear your new bracelets and necklaces home!

Upcycling is a different form of recycling. It is the process of taking something disposable and making it into something new. So come have some fun and save the planet at the same time!

Most supplies will be provided, including an alternative to hemp. Feel free to bring your own scraps, junk mail, and hemp.

Suggested donation of $3 to help pay for supplies.

We are painting a mural in Campustown and we want everyone’s design and concept ideas!

This month we are going to get started on the right… Measurements! Ames C.art has put together a great zine for keeping all your measurements recorded with the diagrams to go along with it. It’s the perfect thing to get started altering and making your own clothes. We will take turns measuring each other and jotting it all down. Then have fun with some general sewing, stitching. Me? I’ll be working on this huge pile of mending that’s built up.

Sharing and stitching together materials, ideas, and community! Come together to share your stash and find uses for what you take home.

Bring a project to work on such as garments to mend and alter, sewing problems to solve, patterns to share, fabric/sewing supplies to swap and use, or your latest knitting/crochet project.

We will have sewing machines, some notions, as well as craft items and patterns to share. All skill levels welcome. Come for the community, stay for the creativity!

What could be more fun than making a ton of Valentines for all your friends? Making valentines for the elders in our community! Come and learn some fancy skills for making unique fun valentines and help make even more to pass around at our local elderly care facility!

I know my grandpa always loved it when people would stop by with some cheery doily, glitter incrusted cards! I’m happy to help pass it on

Please bring any card making supplies you can think of. Some supplies will be provided, but the more the merrier. We will definitely have all sorts of glue, glitter, doilies, construction paper, paper for collaging, craft knifes, scissors, rulers, and cutting mats.
