Campustown Mural

Over 70 volunteers were brought together to create this 80′ X 14′ mural in Campustown. Ages of participants were 4 – 82 years old. The mural was executed over a two week period by everyone from local artists to the fire fighters across the street from the mural who continue to maintain it.

The imagery of the mural was inspired by submissions created during the K-quiz KURE annual event in which participants were asked to design a mural on 8′ sheets of butcher paper. Kristin M Roach stitched all the ideas together into this paint by number design so all community members could participate in painting this mural celebrating the vibrant Ames Community.
